Abstract

440,052. Caps for personal wear. SHARPE, G. H., 25, Wayside Crescent, Harrogate. Sept. 29, 1934, Nos. 27899/34 and 25327/35. [Class 63] [See also Group XIV] A sleeping - cap, dust cap, or like cap for lady's wear, intended particularly for retaining the hair formation in place, comprises a body portion A of lace, gauze or other light fabric which can be opened out substantially flat, furnished with two cords or bands connected at suitable points at the front of the cap and led through hemmed side portions of the cap toward the rear thereof, the free ends being tied together or secured to buttons or studs at the sides of the cap. The cords B, B<1> may be fixed at points adjacent the temples and emerge from the hems at either side of a V- shaped opening A<2> at the rear of the cap, in which opening is arranged a piece of gauze. Buttons C may be provided for the ends of the cords. In a modification, the cords may be secured one at each end of the hem, and pass through the hem in opposite directions as shown in Fig. 5. According to the first Provisional Specification, a rectangular blank of light fabric may be secured about the head by a band secured to one rear corner and provided with button holes for engaging the other rear corner, the front edge having the construction shown in Fig. 5.
