Caps; blocking.-A felt cap or a felt hat having a peak or brim extending only partly round the hat, is constructed with the peak or brim of double thickness blocked from the felt hood, integral with the body and without a seam around the outer edge. The block A is sectional and provided with a projection B at the front. The hood D is positioned over the block and secured with strings d, d'. Surplus material is then cut away, and the work steamed and blocked as usual. A cord e may be inserted in the fold of the peak to remain there during the blocking. The peak does not require a stiffener. The two layers of the peak may be sewn together at their inner edges.
