Abstract
439,809. Tables and cabinets. ASPREY & CO., Ltd., and HILLING, J. O., 165, New Bond Street, London. June 14, 1934, No. 17627. [Classes 52 (i) and 52 (iii)] [See also Group XXIV] A table or cabinet top has three or more extension leaves simultaneously movable. The Figure shows the top of a table or cabinet comprising four leaves 5-8 moved simultaneously by levers or arms 15, 19 pivoted centrally at 20, 22. Each leaf has a guide 10, in which slides a pin 14 on the outer ends of the arms 15, 19 ; these pins 14 are connected by parallel links 16, 18, shown endwise in section, to another link forming with them in plan three sides of a square; in elevation these links and the arms 15, 19 are spaced apart so as to allow the leaves 5-8 to pass between them. The pins 14 form rigid connections for the links, which form a frame rotatable about the axis 20, 22 and adapted to push out or withdraw all the leaves simultaneously. A catch 25 is fitted to prevent unintentional movement.
