Abstract
438,017. Road - traffic signals on vehicles. OSHEI, W. E., and TRICO-FOLBERTH, Ltd., Great West Road, Brentford, Middlesex. March 16, 1935, No. 21939. Divided out of 437,987. [Class 118 (ii)] During the final movement of a semaphore arm into indicating position a spring is stressed to assist the initial return movement of the arm. As shown in Figs. 1 and 2, the arm is formed in two parts 5 and 10, held in their normal relative positions by spring 13. When the arm is raised the two parts move as a single unit until the arm reaches the chain-line position, Fig. 2, when the side of the stirrup portion 10 is held by the side of the casing 12 and further movement of the arm results in the tensioning of the spring 13. When the solenoid is deenergized the spring initiates the return movement of the arm. In another form shown in Fig. 3, a spring 23 is compressed by the final movement of the core 8 of the operating solenoid. Specification 437,987 is referred to.
