437,504. Crushers with vibrating jaws. NORDBERG MFG. CO., Oklahoma Avenue, Milwaukee, Wisconsin, U.S.A. May 4, 1935, No. 13358. Convention date, May 19, 1934. [Class 59] In a jaw crusher in which the moving jaw oscillates between two normally fixed jaws, the supporting means for the moving jaw comprises a plurality of links pivoted to the jaw and to the frame carrying the normally fixed jaws. As shown the doubleacting moving jaw E is supported on links H and is oscillated by an eccentric D<2> whose bearing G slides in a gap E<5>. The crusher plates K are locked to the moving jaw by a plate K<5> bearing on the upper end of both plates. An extension K<6> may be applied to the plate K<5> and may have a dished table at its upper end to distribute the material equally to the two crushing gaps. The moving jaw is provided with side plates E<13> which overlap each side of the stationary jaws and with upper plates E<15> secured to upstanding webs E<12> Fig. 2, which project above the lower end of the hopper P. The fixed jaws L are pivoted at L<3> to bearings which are adjustable by shims to vary the width of the crushing gap and are retained against backward movement by banks of springs M', Fig. 2, which hold a bridge member M against the casing B. The member M is screw-threaded at its centre to receive a screwed plug N locked in position by a plate N3 which jambs the threads by bolts N<7>. The fixed jaw is held against the plug by a hooked bolt O<1> under the restraint of a spring O<2>. The crusher plates L<7> of the fixed jaws L are retained in position by wedge blocks L<9> and a plate L<19> guides the material from the hopper into the crushing gap. Material may be fed separately to each crushing space and in Fig. 9 coarse material from a sieve V passes to one crushing gap whilst material falling through sieve V onto sieve V <1> is further screened on V <1> and the oversize fed to the other crushing gap. The material passing through V<1> is led to the discharge outlet. The action of the moving jaw due to the rotation of the eccentric is shown in Fig. 6 where K and H show the various positions taken up by the moving jaw and pivoted link respectively. The gap E<5> in which the eccentric works is closed at the sides by a ring G<8>, Fig. 2, on the bearing which slides between two discs G<4>, G' on the moving jaw. Dust &c. excluders D<5>, D<6>, protect the ends of the bearings and teeth J are formed on the external periphery of D<5> to drive an oil pump J<2> which supplies oil to a groove C<6> on the drive shaft D and thence by take-offs J<6>, J' to the bearings. The overflow of oil in the recess E<5> is returned by pipe J<8> to the pump.
