Abstract

Oestrogenous products, similar in their action to follicle hormones, but differing therefrom chemically and by reason of their activity when administered by the mouth, are obtained from the tubers of the Siamese plant Butea Superba (Kwao Kua) by extraction with a volatile solvent such as alcohol, methyl alcohol, or acetone. The Specification as open to inspection under Sect. 91 refers also to the use of other parts of the plant Butea Superba, and of other plants of the family leguminosae, and states that other processes, known for obtaining follicle hormone from animal products, may be employed for isolating the active products. This subject-matter does not appear in the Specification as accepted.
