Abstract

437,020. Cylinders. KEIL, J. R. M., St. Mary's Works, Frimley Road, Camberley, Surrey. Jan. 23, 1934, No. 2389. [Class 7 (ii)] A gasket 1 of thin sheet copper is interposed between the cylinder block 4 and head 5 in place of, or in addition to, the normal gasket, and is formed with apertures 6 having inwardlydirected tongues 7 which provide vaporizing- surfaces. The apertures 6 may be of star or cruciform shape or be irregularly serrated, and separate apertures 6<c> may be provided around the valve opening, Fig. 8. The tongues 7 may be formed at the junction of a D, circular, or rectangular shaped aperture having a lateral extension 6<a> adjacent the valves, Fig. 6, or in gaskets which are dished upwardly or downwardly, Fig. 10. Specification 308,999, [Class 7 (ii)], is referred to.
