436,151. Stuffing-materials. HARBOUR LANE MILL CO., Ltd., Harbour Lane, Milnrow, and CALADINE, G., Summerlease, Milkstone Road, both in Rochdale. April 5, 1934, Nos. 10298 and 28838. [Class 52 (iv)] [See also Groups IX, XVII, and XXV] Upholstery wadding &c. in pleat, roll, ribbon or like form is reinforced by external wrappings of spun cotton threads, Fig. 1, which may be coated with size, varnish or adhesive or narrow strips coiled around in either one or both directions. The wadding may also have an internal reinforcement, Fig. 5, or ribbon-like material or lengths of thread to which adhesive may be applied, incorporated in the wadding as it passes from the carding-engine. The cotton wrappings may be white or may be coloured to indicate standards of weight, tightness of wrapping &c., several slivers may be separately wrapped and then be bound together by a further wrapping The wadding may be of various cross sections and be formed from waste cotton, silk or wool. According to the first Provisional Specification, the reinforcing threads coiled in one direction may pass alternately over and under those of the other coiling and the internal reinforcement may comprise one or more lengths of narrow paper or tape and /or threads &c. According to the second Provisional Specification, simultaneous two - direction wrapping may be effected by means of two discs mounted side by side.
