434,933. Copying-telegraphy. ELECTRICAL RESEARCH PRODUCTS, Inc., 195, Broadway, New York, U.S.A.-(Assignees of Pfannenstiehl, H. ; 238, Boulevard, Mountain Lakes, New Jersey, U.S.A.) April 18, 1935, No. 11980. Convention date, April 20, 1934. [Class 40 (iii)] A picture cylinder rotates inside a container C with a longitudinal slot which is closed by a tensioned flexible curtain 18 except for an opening through which a light beam is projected, and the curtain moves along the slot with the optical system E. The curtain is secured to the optical system and is wound on rollers 26 at the ends of the slot. The curtain is maintained under tension by a cord 30 so applied to pulleys 27, 31 rotating with the rollers that, when the optical system moves to unwind the curtain from one of the rollers, the other roller is rotated by the cord to wind on the curtain. A spring 32 compensates variations in the tension of the cord.
