[Class 122 (v)] A flexible metal, e.g. lead, copper, &c. sealing strip 11 having one or more longitudinal oil grooves 14 is secured as by stitches 15 in a channel 12 in a flexible backing strip 10 formed e.g. of asbestos, cotton, flax, rubber, canvas, hemp, or pulverulent material such as cork. The channel may contain a layer of packing material 18 to which the sealing strip is secured said packing material being secured by stitches, to the backing strip.
