Abstract
433,247. Soldering or welding dentures. RAKOS, A., 1, Eszterhazygasse, Vienna. Oct. 15, 1934, No. 29438. [A Specification was laid open to inspection under Sect. 91 of the Acts, June 14, 1935.] [Classes 83 (ii) and 83 (iv)] [See also Group VI] Metal dentures permanently fixed in the mouth are electrically soldered or welded by fixing one electrode to the denture and intermittently applying to the place of treatment a carbon electrode connected to the other terminal of the circuit. The heat is generated by the resistance of the carbon. One electrode consists of a clamp 5 and the other of a carbon rod 1, preferably of compressed retort carbon and of diameter up to 10 m.ms. The rod is secured by an adjustable clamp 2 to a handle 3. The electrodes are connected by flexible cables to the secondary 7 of a transformer, the primary and secondary coils being preferably arranged on separate branches thereof. The tension between the electrodes varies from 4-6 volts at intensities between 10 and 100 amperes. When soldering solder and fluxes are fed to the carbon, the work is cooled by squirting water thereon. The Specification as open to inspection under Sect. 91 states that the process may be applied to soldering or welding metal tarsia in a wood base. This subject-matter does not appear in the Specification as accepted.
