Abstract

432,989. Television receivers; cathoderay tubes. FERNSEH AKT.-GES., Goerzallee, Zehlendorf, Berlin. March 6, 1934, No. 7164. Convention date, March 6, 1933. [Classes 39 (i) and 40 (iii)] In colour television, a plurality of complete images is formed by a single cathode-ray on a screen or screens within a single tube, the said images being caused to overlap in effective superposition as regards an observer. The fluorescent substances, e.g., calcium tungstate, zinc silicate, zinc phosphate, may be provided on separate screens or on adjacent areas on the same screen, The cathode-ray may be adapted to scan a line on successive screens or to scan the whole of one screen before passing, at right angles to the scanned strip, to the next. Velocity modulation may be employed and the controlling electrostatic fields may be located near the cathode or the screen. The Specification as open to inspection under Sect. 91 states also that a separate cathode-ray may be associated with each fluorescent screen. Virtual images of the various pictures may be superimposed by semi-reflecting surfaces and lenses. In other forms, a fluorescent screen giving white light is associated with colour filters or a mosaic screen is used. This subject-matter does not appear in the Specification as accepted.
