[Class 8 (ii)] Dusty air is filtered by a series of inverted bags B flexibly suspended over dust - collecting hoppers C The bags are cleaned by rapidly shutting and opening a valve D in the air inlet either by a hand lever E or by a crank or eccentric electrically controlled by a time switch, the flexible suspension allowing the bags to fall when not lifted by the suction.
