Abstract
432,030. Sprinklers. KOWALSKI, B., 13, Haselhorster Damm, Haselhorst, and NETZBAND, A., 39, Feldstrasse, both in Spandau, Berlin. Jan. 13, 1934, No. 1338. [A Specification was laid open to inspection under Sect. 91 of the Acts, Oct. 25, 1934.] [Class 69 (iii)] A sprinkler 2, Fig. 1, has a rotatable body on the nozzle end provided with one or more baffle surfaces a mounted to rotate around the jet and atomize the outer layers of liquid while the inner core is unatomized. The sprinkler may be mounted to rotate about an axis x, y. The baffle surface may be of the form shown in Fig. 4 comprising a cylindrical guide 2 which directs part of the jet against a propeller surface 1. In order to assist the rotation of the sprinkler about its axis the nozzle may have an eccentric bore so that during its rotation the baffle is struck more forcibly on one side than the other. In the form shown in Fig. 1, the rotatable head h carrying the baffle surfaces also carries a pin e on each rotation engages a cam d on a disc b. The reaction of the jet against the surface a then rotates the sprinkler about the axis x, y until an arm c engages a stop f when the plate b will be tilted allowing the pin e to ride over the cam d, when the plate a will again rotate until the pin e is again engaged by the cam. If only a limited arc of rotation is required a second stop f<1> is provided against which the arm c will engage. The stop pins f, f may be mounted on adjustable rings g, g<1> by which the arc through which the sprinkler operates may be varied. The sprinkler may be provided with a counterweight on the opposite side of its axis to the jet. The Specification as open to inspection under Sect. 91 included the subject-matter of Specification 432,031. This subject-matter does not appear in the Specification as accepted.
