[Class 12 (iii)] [See also Group XVIII] A device for delivering measured quantities of lubricant or other liquids of the kind operated by the pressure of the liquid comprises an admission piston c moving in an admission chamber a and one or more exhaust pistons c<1> moving in exhaust or outlet chambers a<1>, the chambers communicating with each other by passages through which liquid passes from the admission chamber to the outlet chamber or chambers when a decrease of pressure occurs in the inlet, the measured quantity or quantities being ejected from the outlet chamber or chambers when the pressure again increases. As shown in Fig. 1, an abutment b divides a cylinder h into admission and outlet chambers a, a<1>. Increase of pressure in the inlet g forces up the piston c and allows liquid to pass through a pipe e and force up the piston c<1>. When the inlet pressure decreases the piston c moves down under the action of its spring so as to close the orifice of the pipe e and uncover the inlet of a pipe f. As the piston c<1> is moved down, the liquid between the pistons is forced through the pipe f to above the piston c<1> which expels it through the outlet d on the next increase of pressure at the inlet. The position of the lower end of the outlet d may be varied to alter the stroke of the piston c<1> and therefore the amount of liquid delivered. In a modified form, Fig. 9, several outlet chambers with pistons c<1>1, c<1>2, are provided. During the downward movements of these pistons, the liquid is first forced into a reserve chamber j, compressing the air above it and passes from this chamber to the separate outlet chambers when the pistons have reached their lowermost positions.
