Abstract
Textile materials are impregnated with aqueous solutions containing urea, formaldehyde, or a polymer, and an agent which decomposes to liberate an acid or acid salt when heated, dried and heated at temperature from 70--120 DEG C. Suitable agents for the purpose of providing acid are esters such as glycerol diacetate, acid amides, sulphite and bisulphite compounds of ketones and aldehydes and compounds of amine and organic acids. Specification 291,473, [Class 2 (iii)], is referred to.
