Abstract
431,404. Fluorescent screens. RADIOAKT.-GES. D. S. LOEWE, 10, Wiesenweg, Steglitz, and SCHLESINGER, K., 39, Friedrichstrasse, Friedrichshagen, both in Berlin. Jan. 8, 1934, No. 617. Convention date, Jan. 10, 1933. [Class 98 (i)] Fluorescent material is applied to a carrier by means of a layer of binding agent of thickness less than the average diameter of grain of the fluorescent material, the layers being produced from solutions of binding agent of such consistency that the resulting layers are of the required thickness. Suitable binders are water-glass and varnish, a solution of potassium water-glass of specific gravity less than 1À19 e.g. approximately 1À16 being specified. The binding material may be painted on the support e.g. the base of a Braun tube and allowed to settle, the fluorescent material being afterwards applied, e.g. by a nozzle.
