[Class 104 (ii)] [See also Groups XV and XXXIV] A railway track comprises pairs of rails in nested arrange - ment, each pair being composed of two rails which diverge and extend at an ascending angle relative to the horizontal plane. As shown in Fig. 1 the track comprises pairs of rails a, b, &c., each comprising divergent and ascending rails a<1> and a<2>, b<1> and b<2>, &c., the spherical body 1 moving substantially horizontally from one pair of rails to the next in its motion in the direction of the arrow if suitable angles of divergence and ascent of the rails are selected. The track may be horizontal or descending or partly ascending and may be straight or curved. The rails a<1>, a<2>, b<1>, b<2>, &c., are made of curved wire, or of section iron or sheet iron, and are connected by sleepers. Railway vehicles are provided with running wheels comprising flattened spherical bodies 13 as shown in Fig. 3 for a single track, and 14 and 15 as shown in Fig. 4 for a double track. In the case of the double track, Fig. 4, the inner rails a<2>, b<2>, a<3> and b<3> &c., may be omitted. The track may be arranged vertically in a circle which may be closed.
