Abstract

430,582. Drinking-vessels; saucers. McOWAT, J., 15, Balvaird Drive, and WILSON, A., 35, Springfield Park Road, both in Rutherglen, Lanarkshire. Jan. 5, 1934, No. 427. [Class 128] A drinking-vessel is formed about midway of its height with an annular step, and a saucer-like stand therefor has a hollow boss raised to a substantial height, so that the step rests upon the boss and the portion of the vessel below the step is suspended therefrom into the boss to the lowest practical level. As shown the boss B is formed with a downwardly and inwardly extending portion B <1>. In a modification this portion and the downwardly extending part C<1> 1 of the saucer rim are dispensed with, the saucer resting on annular beads positioned at F and G. A spigot-and-fawcet joint may be provided between the boss and the step. The articles may be made of ceramic ware, metal, moulded plastic or like material.
