Abstract
429,989. Card indexes. HABERFELD, E. O., 46, Sedanstrasse, Weissensee, Berlin. Dec. 28, 1934, No. 37134. [Class 146 (i)] In a filing-cabinet for the insertion of loose index cards and sheets, the bottom part a, Figs. 4 and 5, and the top part or cover b are made identical in their innerdimensions, and are provided with identical systems of ridges c to engage the cards, and supporting plates and apertures i for the supporting rods. The halves may be hinged together, or may be made with divergent walls so that they can be fitted into each other, or may be connected together by an intermediate frame member l having hooks m and locks n adapted to engage excisions or eyelets in the halves a, b; one half may be united to the member l. If each half is made in one piece by pressing, moulding, &c., the handles e, Fig. 5, as well as the recesses f, f for the clasp and lock g, h, are all identically shaped on the two halves. When the cover is removed, part of the cards in the bottom part may be removed and placed in the inverted cover.
