Abstract
429,962. Electric discharge tube signs. ROTHER, F., 6, Bozenerstrasse, Sch÷neberg, Berlin. April 10, 1934, No. 10815. [Class 3 (ii)] [See also Group XL] Electric discharge lamps, for advertisement or similar purposes, have electrodes made of substantially round wire arranged either side by side or one above the other, at least one electrode being in the form of continuous written characters. As shown in Fig. 1 the electrodes 2, 3 in the form of letters are separated by a small ignition gap 4. More than two words can be arranged in one tube, electrodes of similar polarity being connected together outside or inside the tube. The lamp may be mounted on a pedestal for window display. In continuous current lamps, the dark electrode may be in the form of a line 3, Fig. 4, running below the cathode 2, or it may be shaped as a frame for the cathode, or as a second line of writing following the cathode.
