429,715. Treatment of plasters. CAFFERATA, B. J., CAFFERATA, G. W., and CAFFERATA & CO., Ltd., Newark-on- Trent. Aug. 3, 1934, No. 22688. [Class 22] [See also Group II] Plaster of Paris or other calcium sulphate plaster is mixed with water and placed in a vessel from which air is subsequently withdrawn, the mixture being subjected to agitation during evaporation. The agitation may be effected by passing a stream of air through the mixture for a minute or more under a vacuum of 26 inches, the mixture being then subjected without agitation to a vacuum of 28 inches for half a minute or more. The mixing may be carried out in apparatus comprising a jug A for the mixture, an air pipe F with a non-return valve G, and an outer vacuum vessel C having a valve K leading to a pump and a valve L communicating with the atmosphere.
