Abstract
428,087. Photographic copying and enlarging apparatus. PICTORIAL MACHINERY, Ltd., and CORKETT, J. F. L., 47, Hatton Garden, London. Nov. 10, 1933, No. 31409. [Class 98 (i)] In a copy holder which is mounted on a carriage and is adapted to be rotated on the carriage from a vertical to a horizontal position and vice versa, the carriage is formed of parallel rods, one of which serves as the pivot for the holder and a second as a stop and support for holder when in the horizontal position. The carriage 48 moves on a pair of rails 39, 40 which are supported by a framework of beams 28, 29, cross-members 25, 26, and uprights 19, 20, and comprises two plate members 50, 51 joined by four parallel rods 53, 54, 55 and 56. The two axles 58, 59 are journalled in lugs on the plate members, and carry grooved wheels 60 to engage with the track rails. Detachable plates 62, 63 on the underside of the plate members 50, 51 prevent tilting of the carriage. The upper rod 53 serves as a hinge-pin for the copy holder 65, and the rod 54 supports the copyholder when the latter is in the horizontal position. The holder is held in the vertical position by a spring-pressed pin which snaps into a notch 73 on the side of the copy holder. The holder may comprise a metal frame 67, and a glazed cover 68 hinged at 69 and fastened by clips 70. The rails upon which the carriage runs are adjustable horizontally, one end of each rail being pivoted at 42, and the other end movable in a slot 45. Swinging arms 34 carry lamps for illuminating the copy.
