Abstract

428,004. Trueing grinding wheels. WATSON, F., Aldwych House, Aldwych, London.-(Reishauer - Werkzeuge Akt. - Ges. ; 87, Limmatstrasse, Zurich, Switzerland) July 23, 1934, No. 21490. [Class 60] A device for trueing a grinding-worm 1, comprises two discs 6, 7 with tapered operative faces grooved at 12 and mounted for free rotation in bushes 8, adjustable axially in bearings 4, 5 by racks 9 and pinions 10, clamping-means 14 also being provided. The discs are adjusted angularly by means of slots in the plates carrying the bearings 4, 5 and bolts 18 carried by a slide 2 on which the plates are mounted, a gauge 15 mounted on the slide 2 serving to give the required angular setting; scales 16, 17 also are provided. The periphery of the worm is trued by a diamond 3 adjustable on the slide 2 and the slide 2 is movable transversely on a slide 21 movable parallel to the axis of the worm. The bearings 4, 5 may be mounted so that the trueing-discs may be adjusted according to the pitch angle of the worm.
