Abstract
427,838. Heating by electric induction. DELANO, J. K., 176, Pennyfield Avenue, New York, U.S.A. Feb. 8, 1934, No. 4216. [Class 39 (iii)] In an electric heater consisting of a transformer having a tubular short circuited secondary coil through which the substance to be heated is passed, the secondary comprises two coils of different cross-section, the substance to be heated passing first through the coil with smaller cross-section and then through that with the larger. The smaller coil 24 may be carried along the interior of the larger coil 13. The substance to be heated enters at inlet 23 and passes along coil 24 leaving it through a port 25 and then passing to the exit through the annular passage between coils 24 and 13. The primary coil 12 of the transformer is provided on the other limb of the core 10.
