427,262. Bowden mechanism. PINDER, J. T., Well House, Wellgate, Clitheroe, Lancashire. Oct. 26, 1933, No. 29655. [Class 80 (iii)] [See also Group XXXVIII] A single operating lever controls a pair of signalling arms through Bowden wires or the like, the wires being connected to the lever on sides remote from their respective signalling arms and being provided with means to buckle the non-operating wire when the other is operated. As shown, the two wires run in a groove 13 in the curved surface of the plate 6 and are fixed by screws 14, 15. When the handle 5 is moved to the left, as shown, a left-hand signal is operated by wire 11<a> and the wire 11<b> connected to the right-hand signal is buckled, as shown, due to the bead 16 soldered to the wire. The operating handle 5 is held in its operated positions by friction between the plate 6 and the base plate 8, the degree of which can be regulated by nut 17 and spring 18.
