[Classes 18 and 94 (i)] [See also Group VIII] A continuous adhesive paper strip 3, Fig. 5, constituting a sealing means for packages has a further band 17 gummed thereto at intervals so that the intermediate portions form loops 18 for carrying the packages, and the strip is divided by holes 20 or perforations 21 to facilitate tearing off a section of the strip, the holes, &c. being provided at points over which the band 17 does not extend. A loop 18 is brought to the non-adhesive side of the strip 3 through a longitudinal slot (not shown). A holder for a roll 4, Fig. 1, of such strip material is provided with a guide sleeve 7 and a moistening brush 8 in a liquid container 9 detachably secured to the sides of the holder. The sleeve 7 has a longitudinal slot in its upper side to allow for the passage of the loops, and a spring pawl 11 passes through the lower side of the sleeve and engages the holes 20 in the strip. The pawl normally rests in a groove 12 in the upper side of the sleeve, but it is depressed by the fingers and frees the strip when a loop is grasped to pull the strip forward.
