Abstract

426,274. Tilting wire-cloths of papermaking machines. RUSSELL, D., HAPPER, J. R., and LAW, J. D., Rothes, Markinch, Fifeshire. Oct. 5, 1933, No. 27416. [Class 96] A frame 2 comprising beams supporting the wire-cloth &c., is pivoted about an axis coincident with that of the lower couch roll, and is raised at the breast-roll end by means 5, 6, 7 supported from uprights 8. The flowbox which is carried by the frame 2 is in two parts 9, 11, connected by a pipe 12, and supplied through a pipe 10, the arrangement allowing height adjustment which may be made whilst the machine is in operation, without affecting the pulp flow. The motor 14 for the shake motion is supported by transverse girders 16 bridging the frame 2.
