[Class 135] [See also Group XI] Valves controlled by pilot or relay valves.- In an igniting device for a gas burner installation as described in the parent Specification, the supply of gas to the electrically-ignited auxiliary jet h is cut off automatically after the jet has served its purpose as an intermediary in the ignition of the main burner o. As shown, the movement of a diaphragm a, produced by the starting of liquid flow in a pipe a<1>, opens valves q, b and closes the ignition circuit at contacts g<1>. Gas then flows from the main pipe c through pipes c<1>, d, f to the jet h, which is ignited by the igniter g. The movement of a thermostat i, heated by the jet h, vents a pipe k thereby operating a diaphragm l, which opens a valve m to supply gas by way of a pipe p and open valve q to the main burner, closes a valve e to extinguish the jet h, and breaks the ignition circuit at contacts t. The thermostat i is then heated by a jet u fed from the main burner or through a byepass from the pipe d.
