Abstract
424,986. Vehicle spring-suspensions. BURGESS, E., and BURGESS, K. E. O., 46, Queen Charlotte Street, Bristol. Nov. 20, 1933, No. 32360. [Class 108 (ii)] In a spring suspension for vehicles comprising a central girder or like longitudinal frame transverse laminated springs are mounted pivotally on the frame. Fig. 1 shows upper and lower transverse springs 3 pivoted at 4 to brackets 2 secured to the central girder frame 1. The springs 3 may comprise two or more side by side on both upper and lower sides of the frame 1 and the ends of the springs 3 are connected to brackets upon which the wheels are mounted. Fig. 3 shows another form of central girder frame 1 upon which the springs 3 are mounted by means of brackets 2 and ball race 10. Fig. G shows the arrangement for use in six-wheeled vehicles in which the ends of the springs 3 are secured to brackets 5 upon the stud 6 of which longitudinal springs 8, supporting the wheels 7, are pivoted.
