Abstract

422,498. Wire rope conveyers. EFANDEM CO., Ltd., and LAWRENSON, W. H., Fallings Park Works, Wolverhampton. Sept. 11, 1933, No. 25081. [Class 104 (ii)] A conveyer comprises an endless rope A passing round two pulleys, supports D, d for the rope, and containers &c., G provided with hooks H hung on the rope. The supports d have recesses d<3> to provide clearance for the ends of the hooks. If the rope has to change its direction, it is passed round a star-wheel J provided with grooved teeth j engaging the rope. To prevent the hooks H being caught by the teeth and detached from the rope, a stop finger N is provided, sliding in a housing m and pivoted to a lever P, which is connected at one end to a spring Q, and at the other end carries a roller p<1> adapted to engage the points of a series of pins j<2> mounted in the wheel J. When the roller p<1> engages a pin j<2>, the lever is rocked and the pin N descends to engage a hook H and stop it until its movement will bring it into a gap between the teeth j.
