Void [Abridged as open to inspection under Sect. 91 of the Acts, Sept. 26, 1933.] [Class 80 (ii)] Between the rim and the hub of a resilient transmission gear wheel are a number of cylindrical resilientmembers each consisting of a rubber sleeve pressed on a hub by means of a ring. In the construction shown, the hub 4 is formed with apertures arranged in a circle and adapted to receive cylindrical rubber members 10, each surrounded by a rubber element 5 compressed by a ring 11. The ends of the members 10 extend into recesses formed in a rim 1 and a plate 2 which are bolted together to form a toothed pinion. Joints 7 are provided to prevent leakage of lubrication when provided between the outer surface of the hub 4 and the inner surface of the element 1. A gear box 8 is provided to enclose lubricant necessary for the teeth of the pinion.
