[Class 60] [See also Groups X and VIII] Apparatus for bevelling the adjacent edges of a plurality of small elements 2 of glass or other rigid material secured to a flexible substratum 1 to form a wall lining comprises a rotary grinding wheel 6 adapted to be moved along a joint line between the elements when the lining is placed on a prism-shaped support 3 with the joint line arranged along one edge of the support as shown in Fig. 2. The wheel 6 is rotated by an electric motor 8 carried in a bracket 9. The support 3 is rotatable on a shaft 4, and the width of the faces of the prism 3 is arranged to be equal to the width of the elements 2 or to a multiple thereof. To permit the wheel 6 to be traversed along the joint line, the bracket 9 may be moved by hand along a slide 10, Fig. 2, or, as shown in Fig. 4, it may be moved by a motor 13 and maintained in correct vertical position by a roller 15 engaging a guide rail 16. In the latter arrangement, there may be provided control means operated when the wheel 6 reaches the end of a joint line for effecting automatic reversal of the traverse of the wheel 6 and rotation of the support 3 to bring an unbevelled joint line into position. In an alternative arrangement, a bevelled grinding wheel may be provided, in which case the lining may be arranged on a flat support.
