Abstract
420,786. Tubular fabrics. OPTIMIT GUMOVE A TEXTILNI ZAVODY AKCIOVA SPOLECNOST, Odry, Czecho-Slovakia. April 19, 1934, No. 11813. Convention date, April 19, 1933. [Class 142 (iv)] [See also Group VIII] An inner hose-like fabric for making hollow bodies, such as pads, mattresses, &c., of rubberized fabric, has the upper and lower webs 1, 2 connected together with a predetermined clearance before being rendered water or air tight by weft threads which stand substantially at right angles to the webs when the hollow body is inflated. The connecting weft threads pass at a, b from the lower to the upper web interweave in the upper web between band c, float at n, pass back to the lower web at d, interweave therewith between d and a<1>, float between the two webs at a<1>, bl interweave with the upper web at b<1>, c<1> and so on. The floated parts at n are then cut, when the fabric assumes the shape shown in Fig. 4. In a modification, the connecting weft threads pass from e to f, Fig. 6, interweave in the lower web between f and g, then pass between the two webs at g, h, and are interwoven in the upper web between h and j and so on. A fabric shaped as shown in Fig. 7 may be thereby produced. The finished fabric may be rendered air tight by, rubberizing, covering with air tight layers, and dipping, &c. Mattresses with thickened beadings at the edges may be produced.
