Abstract

420,701. Disinfecting-apparatus for water-waste-preventers. HULSE, F., Firdale, Grove Road, Halton, Leeds. Aug. 8, 1933, No. 22113. [Class 26] In apparatus wherein a container 3 is mounted in an inverted position upon a stand 1 in the cistern, and the stand has a tubular outlet 7 controlled by a floatvalve 5, the members 5, 7 are provided with cooperating means adapted to prevent the valve 5 sinking too far and thereby coming off the outlet 7. The co-operating means are preferably adjustable. In the form shown, the container is threaded into a socket in the stand and the float operates in a hollow in the stand ; the co-operating means comprise a spider 10 in the outlet receiving a headed rod 8 which is adjustably screwed into a socket in a cap moving upon the outlet 7. The head on the rod may be constituted by a movable nut, or headed rods of different lengths may be employed as required. An annular space 12 is provided around the outlet to prevent a pumping action and to prevent varying results for different fillings of the container.
