Abstract
419,619. Endless - chain conveyers. ROSE, A. G., and ROSE BROS. (GAINSBOROUGH), Ltd., Albion Works, Gainsborough, Lincolnshire. July 6, 1933, No. 19121. [Class 78 (i).] In a conveyer of the kind in which articles are pushed over a table 14 between guides 16, 17 by pushers 37 on an endless chain, means are provided for moving each pusher to inoperative position at the delivery station comprising a pinion 77 mounted to rotate with the pusher about the pivot 38 connecting the latter to the chain, and a gear wheel 51 which at the time of engagement with the pinion is driven at the same speed as the driving sprockets for the conveyer. The shaft 52 of the gear 51 carries a worm wheel 53 which engages a worm 54 on a shaft 55 movable longitudinally in bearings 56, 57, 58. An elongated pinion 59 on the shaft 55 engages a gear 60 which is driven from the shaft 29 through bevel gearing. The shaft 29 is driven at the same speed as a shaft 28 which carries cams 74, 76 acting on rollers 73, 75 on a pivoted member 71 to reciprocate the shaft 55 once during each rotation of the shaft. During the reciprocation of the shaft, the gear 51 is first accelerated and then retarded in order to rock the pusher first away from and then back to its working position.
