Abstract
419,502. Photographic cameras with telemeters. ZEISS IKON AKT.-GES., 72, Schandauerstrasse, Dresden, Germany. March 1, 1934, No. 6607. Convention date, Oct. 25, 1933. [Class 98 (i).] In a camera having a telemeter coupled to the focusing mechanism, the optical members forming the base of the telemeter are mounted on the camera housing and the ray-deviating means are mounted remote from the base, in the vicinity of the means for adjusting the objective. In the form shown, the base 1 is mounted on the camera body 2 and the ray deviating means which comprise a pair of rockable wedges 3, 4 are mounted on the camera front adjacent to the objective casing 9. The frame 6 of wedge 3 carries a pin 7 engaging cam 8 on the casing, being pressed in contact therewith by a spiral spring on the pivot 5 of the frame. Both wedges may be rockable, being then coupled by small gear wheels. In other forms, the ray-deviating means comprise two lenses producing no deflection in the rest position, one of which may be moved across the other in a plane at right angles to the optical axis by means of a cam on the support over which the camera front moves or by means of a rack driven by gearing from the focusing lens mount. In another form, two lenses are used, one of which is pivoted on an axis at the common centre of curvature of the contacting surfaces of the lenses, and is moved by a cam on the support over which the lens front moves. Specification 405,208 is referred to.
