[Class 52 (iv).] In an interlaced slat type of spring surface each longitudinal slat is interlaced with each transverse slat by passing one slat through a slot formed in the other. The slats may be slung on tension springs or supported by upholstery springs 6 wound over the slats or through the slots, Fig. 3, smaller springs 13 being also provided on the side bars to support the ends of the slats.
