472,006. Spring upholstery. BITZMANN, E. Sept. 17, 1936, No. 35361. [Class 52 (iv)] A reversible squab of upholstery springs 8 has transverse metal laths in its upper and lower surfaces which carryon their inner faces closely abutting blocks 7 which prevent outward bending of the laths, permitting the device to be supported from its lower border frame without the use of a bedstead bottom. The blocks may be provided with recesses 7a to receive the end turns of the upholstery springs. In the case of a sectional mattress the laths forming the borders of the units may have reinforcing springs 15, Fig. 3, applied to the undersides of the blocks.
