418,719. Stencils. TILLETT, G. H., 36, Charterhouse Square, London, and TILLETTS, Ltd., 4, Vernon Street, Derby. Feb. 8, 1934, No. 4197. [Class 100 (ii).] Silk screen stencils are manufactured by applying a coating of water-soluble size on one side of the screen, painting or tracing the design on the other side of the screen with a mixture of water paint and either glycerine or a fatty substance such as butter, coating the painted surface of the screen with a cellulose compound such as cellulose lacquer, and washing the screen with water until the painted design and the size are removed leaving parts of the screen blocked out with the cellulose compound. The size is applied with the object of preventing the paint from passing through the screen on to the original design while the tracing is being effected.
