Abstract

418,618. Roller blinds. FEHER, A., 176, Th÷k÷ky Ut., Budapest. Oct. 4, 1933, No. 27321. [Class 52 (v).] A device for drawing and fixing roller blinds comprises a common dust proof casing containing the locking device and the winding spring which are connected by a reducing toothed wheel transmission. The casing comprises two parts b, c<1> with a front wall c and a detachable rear plate. On the inner side of the front wall c of the casing c<1> is fixed a ratchet wheel n having four teeth. A central bore supports the shaft 4, 6 which also forms a wheel 5 of the transmission gearing and upon the shaft is mounted a pawl disc h with pawls j engaging the teeth of the ratchet n. The pawl disc h has an aperture corresponding to the shape of the toothed wheel 5 and is fixed thereon by a pin 5<11>. A screw 14 passing through a tubular axle secures the casing to the wall and also supports the large toothed wheel 2 and the winding spring o. One end 10 of the latter is held in a slit 11 in the toothed wheel 2, the other end being attached to a tubular projection 7 on the end wall. A partition 9 is arranged between the toothed wheel 2 and the winding spring o and a cover plate 8 is fixed on the projections 7. The toothed wheel transmission enables shorter springs to be used and when the blind roller is rotated quickly the pawls j swing out and do not engage the ratchet teeth. The roller is journalled on the square end f of the shaft 4 and the other end may have a journal f<1> which is held in a bearing comprising two plates u, v, sliding one within the other. The journal f<1> is introduced into a horizontal slot x in the supporting plate u, and the other plate v is dropped to retain the journal within its vertical slot z. The movement of the plate v is restricted by a pin v<1> and slot v<11>.
