Abstract

156,500. Coindet, E. Dec. 13, 1919, [Convention date]. Roller blinds. - A braking-arrangement for spring-roller blinds which are balanced by the weight of the bottom rods, comprises a braking- spring compressed between a device having double. rack surfaces, and a ring integral with a fixed axle about which the blind roller rotates. The fixed axle 5 carries the ring 9 which serves as a seat for a spring 10 pressing on a member 12, which is slidable on the axle 5 and carries spring-operated pawls 15, 15'. The pawls 15, 15' engage the teeth of the ratchet wheel 18 on a member 19 which is slidable and rotatable on the axle 5. A sleeve 21 fixed to the blind roller 2 is constructed with helical notches 20<1> which engage corresponding notches 20 in the member 19. When the blind is pulled down, the member 19 is restrained from rotating by the pawls 15, and the 'sleeve 21 rotates and presses back the member 19 against the action of the spring 10. The spring 10 normally prevents rotation of the blind by holding the notched parts 20, 20<1> in interengagement. The Specification, as open to inspection, under Sect. 91 (3) (a) describes a modification in which the member 19 is replaced by the member 25, Fig. 9 (Cancelled), having helical notches 20 and ratchet teeth 29 with which engage spring-pressed detents 26 arranged as shown. This subjectmatter does not appear in the Specification as accepted.
