[Class 112.] The invention relates to feed reversing and regulating mechanism. The direction and degree of movement of the feedrock shaft 8 is determined by the position of the floating lever 13. In the position V, Fig. 5, the longest forward stitch is made. In the position R, the longest rearward stitch is made. In the position O, the feed is zero. Various lengths of forward and rearward stitches can be made by fixing the lever 13 in intermediate positions by a knurled nut. During sewing, the driving eccentric 9 on the main shaft 2 imparted a rocking motion to the lever 10 which communicates such movement to the lever 12. The rod 12, due to its hinged suspension in the cylindrical slide member 15, will slide through a greater or smaller distance along the slot of the floating member 13, in accordance with the angular position of this member. So that the rod 12 imparts a larger or smaller motions in one direction or the other to the feed rock shaft 8. The floating member 31 may be returned to initial position by a rod or chain 20 connected to a pedal or handle.
