Abstract

Stuffed or padded articles such as upholstery cushions &c., are made by confining chlorinated rubber in the form of small filaments, cells, (i.e. hollow beads, shapes or bubbles) or lamin or small aggregations of such forms in contact with a flexible covering. The chlorinated rubber preferably contains a plasticizer such as tricresyl phosphate, dibutyl phthalate, chlorinated diphenyls and chlorinated naphthalenes and may be used in conjunction with an inert resilient material such as natural or artificial rubber in comminuted form.
