415,569. Endless chain conveyers. LAMSON CO., Lamson Street, Syracuse, New York, U.S.A.-(Assignees of Perry, H. R., and Jennings, C. S. ; 201, Elm Avenue, Swarthmore, Pennsylvania, U.S.A.) July 27, 1933, No. 21134. Convention date, June 7. Addition to 407,594. [Class 78 (i).] In the apparatus described in the parent Specification for the manufacture of shoes, the shoes are carried on trays 70, Fig. 6, which rest on rectangular racks 60, Fig. 5, having bosses 61 at each corner travelling in the guides for the chains 20, 21, two of these bosses receiving pins 53 which project from the chains. The guides are formed by angle brackets 48, 49, Fig. 4, lined with fibre strips 50, 51. Lateral movement of the racks is limited by tongues 68 on them which travel adjacent to the guides. Each tray 70 is made of rigid mouldable material, such as that known under the Registered Trade Mark " Bakelite," and is divided into compartments by one or more walls 74. Tongues 77 projecting downwardly at each corner, and downward projections 76 on the end walls 73 engage bushings 69 and depressions 67, respectively, in the racks 60. The apertures 80 in the base of a tray may be closed by removable filler plates. In a modification pins on each rack are received in inclined slots in blocks fixed to the chains. In another modification the trays are pivoted to the racks and carry levers which on engagement with fixed trips cause the trays to tilt and dump their contents.
