Abstract
415,360. Nails for mountain boots. TRICOUNI SOC. ANON., 2, Place de la Fusterie, Geneva, Switzerland. May 14, 1934, No. 14511. Convention date, May 19, 1933. [Class 17 (iii).] Protectors for mountain boots consist of T-shaped metal blanks in one piece, the transverse part h, i corresponding in shape to the edge of the sole b and having at least one prolonged claw m. Two prolonged claws d, e, are located on the longitudinal part of the blank separated from the claw m and from one another by a distance at least equal to the height of the highest of the claws. The claws d, e may be divergent, and the free ends of the claws may all be at the same height. A fixing paw n may extend up the edge of the sole of the boot with a hook o to engage the upper edge. U-shaped fixing staples 2 with the points 5, Fig. 4, bevelled outwards and with roughened limbs 3 are driven through perforations 7 in the blanks to secure the protector in position. Recesses 10 are provided adjacent grooves 9 in the protectors which receive the heads 6 of the staples to permit of the insertion of a tool when it is desired to remove the staples.
