414,618. Corkscrews. VORMELCHER, O., Klemnitz, Germany. March 29, 1934, No. 9886. [Class 125 (ii).] A corkscrew 2 is provided in the handle with a removable device 3 for withdrawing surplus pieces of cork from the bottle. The device 3 comprises a metal tube with an enlargement 11 corresponding with an external sieve 9 for locating it within the handle 1. A tapered rubber disc 6 is carried at one end, which is used for catching the pieces of cork when that end is placed in the bottle neck. Holes are provided under the sieve 9 and the device has a central bore 8 covered by a sieve 10 ; consequently liquid trapped by the device is returned to the bottle there through.
