Abstract

413,142. Sewing and embroidery. KLEINERT, C., Friedrichsthal, Niederbarnim, Germany. Sept. 11, 1933, No. 25095. [Class 112.] A method for continuously embroidering in two colours by means of a single needle consists in threading the needle with two different coloured threads, passing the threads through the fabric from below at the point 1, whereupon one thread 2 is laid in a straight line in the upper surface of the fabric and the other thread 3 is spread at an angle. The needle is then passed through the fabric from above at 4, moved along the back and passed through at 5, so holding the threads 2 and 3 in position. The process is repeated to produce the two-coloured pattern shown. Other patterns may be produced. Needles.-To avoid the difficulty of threading a needle with two thick threads, needles with two eyes at right angles to each other as shown in Fig. 5, are provided.
