Abstract

412,927. Sanitary bins &c. NOFUME, Ltd., and ATTWOOD, K., 55, Pall Mall, London. Jan. 3, 1933, No. 188. [Class 26.] A smokers' ash or other receptacle comprises a carrier 21 on which the receptacle 10 is tiltably mounted, and a cover 11, provided with an inlet aperture and normally preventing the receptacle from being tilted, but slidably mounted on the carrier 21 to allow it to be moved into a position in which the container is free to be tilted. As shown, the receptacle 10 is pivoted at 15 to a strap 16 mounted on a supporting bracket 21, which may be secured to the back of a seat or other support. The cover 11 has a rim 12 adapted to fit over the receptacle 10, and is provided with vertical arms 13 carrying studs 14 slidable in channelled and slotted arms 17 on the bracket 21. The aperture in the cover may have a depending inlet tube 24 forming a smoke trap, and a conical deflecting member may be mounted on the bottom of the receptacle under the inlet tube.
