Abstract
412,265. Washing gases. PEASE, ANTHONY EQUIPMENT CO., Cambridge, Massachusetts, U.S.A.-(Assignees of Anthony, A. W.). Dec. 23, 1932, No. 36484. Convention date, Jan. 13. [Class 55 (ii).] In a gas-washing system, the liquid from the spraying-chamber 10 flows through a perforated box 26 into a precipitating vessel 34, and thence into a skimming-tank 48 wherein floating solid material is removed. A constant level is maintained in the tank by means of a float chamber 52 which controls the addition of make-up liquid ; the excess liquid is returned to the spray pipe 16 by a pump 80. The spraying-chamber may contain a series of nozzles spaced throughout the cross-sections of the gas stream, and a second series of nozzles to deliver spray upon moisture-removing baffles. Reference has been directed by the Comptroller to Specification 306,043, [Class 55 (ii)].
